The musical minds behind two of Manchester’s most creative bands have joined forces to sculpt a sound that is raising the bar for new artists within the UK’s multi-genre infused electronic music scene.

Mica & Kardanski are the subject of the latest “have you heard?” whisperings in their musically bounteous hometown. A band that are unmistakably current, yet boast all the attributes of something much more classic and timeless.

The duo consist of former Red Sky Noise songwriter and vocalist, Mica Millar – whose debut single ‘Only You’ was playlisted as BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Introducing ‘Single of the Week’ in 2014 – and maverick producer Sean ‘Kardanski’ Mbaya, the multi instrumentalist band member, musical brain and production Svengali behind Manchester’s much lauded fusionists Kid British.

Listening to Mica & Kardanski is like a glorious rebirth of the heady days of dance music and beat driven electronica. You are taken at once on a cross-genre journey of their influences, from classic hip hop and 90’s dance, via trip hop and motown.

Mica’s fierce, power-soul vocals and heart wrenching melodies shape and define their sound, one which is contagiously ‘dance floor’ and uplifting, yet heartbreakingly poignant and honest at the same time.

‘Trouble’ is already getting strong DJ and club reactions, already reaching No.1 on the Music Week Breakers chart.

After becoming the latest signing to emerging Manchester label MUK Records in May of this year, Mica & Kardanski are now about to drop their 2015 debut release ‘Trouble’…an impossible to resist, joyously infectious, break heavy funk/soul floor filler of a track, featuring what can only be described as ‘that bass line’.
