Bookmakers have never seen so much interest in the X Factor after the first show as two acts blew away both the judges and punters. Louisa Johnson is the 5/1 favourite with 4th Power hot on her tail at 7/1.

“We have not seen a first night like it in over a decade of betting on the X Factor – both Louisa & 4th Power have been backed as if they cannot lose,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. “These are the most effective auditions since 2009, when Jamie Afro caused mayhem after his performance.”

“Louisa and 4th Power absolutely smashed their auditions and we think they will be very popular in the betting. It’s early days, but they are the ones to catch,” added William Hill’s Jon Ivan-Duke.
