The world’s biggest boyband One Direction scooped four gongs at last night’s Teen Choice Awards after opening the show in Los Angeles.
Even long before they opened the show, the shows presenters, other celebrities on the blue carpet and fans on Twitter, could not talk about anything else other than the fact they were nominated and performing. It didn’t take long for many social media spectators to brand the event ‘The One Direction Show’.
And rightly so. They won Choice Summer Tour, Choice Group, Choice Single for Live While We’re Young and Choice Love Song for Little Things, before later taking to the stage for a well-received performance of their latest single, Best Song Ever.
Niall took to twitter to show thank Directioners fans for voting, saying: “Yessss”, he wrote. “Thank you guys so much for the awards. U mean so much to us! Wouldn’t be doin it without you! Thank you America! Chill tonight!”
Harry Styles also won two of his own awards, Choice Hottie and Choice Smile and to say he was enjoying the moment is an understatement. At one point sititng next to pal Ed Sheeran, the 1D hunk treated the world to a twerk. Something he may have regretted later according to his tweet:
