Justin Timberlake has sealed his return to pop stardom by joining Macklemore in picking up six nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Timberlake is up for Video of the Year trophy, Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing for Mirrors, while his collaboration with rapper Jay-Z, Suit & Tie, is also up for Best Collaboration and Best Direction.
Both Timberlake and Macklemore will be battling the coverted Video of the Year with Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.
The Brits are represented by Ed Sheeran who is up for Best Male Video for Lego House. Alt-J are also up for Best Art Direction for their single Tesselate and Mumford & Sons I Will Wait gets a nod for Best Rock Video.
