Britain’s Got Talent winners Attraction and stars Jack Carroll and Gabz have been confirmed in the line-up to join headliners McFly for Go Local, a star-studded afternoon at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 19 July.
Jack Carroll, the 14 year-old comic made famous by his hilarious stand-up routines in Britain’s Got Talent, will perform a set in what will be his biggest gig yet. Joining him is music star Gabz, the teenager rising through the charts with her new single Lighters (The One) and Attraction, who wowed the judges with their stunning shadow act before triumphing in the show.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly will compere the show, which will also feature Eddie Izzard and The Feeling alongside top-selling band McFly, who will close the event. Other star acts on the billing include: the Opening Cermemony’s Pandemonium Drummers, Spelbound, BOND Quartet, The James Riley Band, Robbie Boyd and Greatest Hits of the West End, featuring Jody Prenger
Co-hosted by London 2012 volunteering charity Join In and the Mayor’s Team London, the event invites everyone to re-live the Olympic atmosphere and continue its volunteering legacy. London 2012 medallists and sporting heroes will return to the Park, alongside Lord Coe and the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, to recognise the valuable contribution volunteers make in their local community and inspire more people to get involved. Go Local will provide ideas and practical advice on how people interested in volunteering can make a real impact in their local community.
Go Local, Presented by BT, is hosted by Join In, and Team London, and is majority funded by the Big Lottery Fund, with additional funding from government grant and BT.
People can buy up to four tickets, to encourage volunteers to spread the word among their friends. A pair of tickets costs £15 available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk/go-local.
