Emeli Sande has capped an incredible 12 months for the singer with four nominations for the 2013 Brit Awards. One more than Mumford and Sons and Mercury Prize winners Alt-J, each with three nominations.

Rita Ora also has three nominations, including two in the best single list.

x Factor have proven to be a huge force in 2012 with former contestants Olly Murs, One Direction and James Arthur all nominated for gongs.

Olly Murs has two nominations, Best Single for his number one hit Troublemaker and Best British Male Solo Artist.

One Direction have been nominated for Best British Group. One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful won the 2012 Brit Award for Best British Single.

James Arthur has been nomination for Best British Single, for his debut single Impossible.

The 2013 Brit Awards will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 20, 2013 and will be hosted by actor James Corden and will feature performances from Muse, Robbie Williams, Emeli Sande, Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard and One Direction.
