‘Stargazer’ is a delicious earworm of a single, with its groove of quirky, fizzy, funk-influenced pop blending with bittersweet straight-talking lyrics.
The single maintains a beaming confidence and chameleon-esque musicality that shows off their crossover potential.
End Of The World or [SEKAI NO OWARI] as their known in their homeland, are currently one of Japan’s most popular and skilled creative groups.
The four members – Nakajin (group leader, lead guitar, sound production); Fukase (lead vocals, group conceptualist); Saori (stage production, piano); and the masked clown DJ LOVE (sonic palette, comedic stage banter).
Now their combined passion and deep personal connections, the group have gone on to sell out two shows at the 72,000-seat Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan.
The group have enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top, with their latest album ‘Tree’ totalling over 1 million sales, their success is also evident on YouTube, as their massive hit “RPG” has reached over 130 million views and latest single “Rain” was the theme song for Studio Ponoc’s animation movie ‘Mary And The Witch’s Flower’.
End of the World have performed all over Japan, selling out crowds of 300,000 people. They made their initial foray into the US market last summer, with headline shows at the Roxy in Los Angeles and The Bowery Ballroom in New York including a career highlight supporting Clean Bandit on their US tour. (An act who they’ve formed a collaborative relationship with having featured on their ‘Rockabye’ remix.)
This is a new start for End Of The World who are ready to take their music and imaginative shows to music fans all over the world.
