Gabrielle Aplin has today released the video for ‘Waking Up Slow’, the lead single from her forthcoming EP Avalon released October 6th.

The dream-like video (directed by Charlotte Rutherford – Marina & The Diamonds ‘Blue’, Fickle Friends ‘Brooklyn’, M.O ‘Not In Love’) features Gabrielle performing her single amongst glorious countryside and empty suburban streets while a beautiful cast of bleary-eyed dancers accompany her with contemporary drama.

Regarding the single and video, Gabrielle says, “‘Waking Up Slow’ as a song is about appreciating life as it is and focusing on the positives and deciding to just be. I wanted to focus the video around the idea of not being able to sleep, and turning that night into an adventure instead of a frustration with no real line between reality and a dream. I wanted to incorporate an all female cast to blur the lines between day time and night time whilst having fun with fashion and colour.”

‘Waking Up Slow’ is proving a big hit at radio and has been featured as ‘Record Of The Week’ at Radio 1 and has been added to the Radio 2 playlist. Gabrielle has also received great support from press with the likes of The Sun, Metro, Sunday Times, The Observer and many more besides all featuring the singer and raving about her new music.

The song has clocked up well over 1.4 Million plays on Spotify and Gabrielle recently revealed a stunning acoustic version of the track, which has received over 5 Million plays on Facebook alone.

‘Waking Up Slow’ opens the forthcomingAvalon EP, which is joined by the beautiful electro-pop of ‘Say Nothing’, the mesmeric guitars and worldly rhythms of ‘Used To’, while the huge pop anthem ‘Stay’ closes the record.
