Having caused a storm with their brand new track ‘When the Bassline Drops’, garage pioneer Craig David and Grime’s zookeeper Big Narstie today unveil the official video for the single. Watch now below.

Having started out as a DJ before launching his solo career, Craig David went on to sell over 13 million albums, secured 13 Top ten hits and achieved multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries. Now fifteen years since his seminal debut ‘Born To Do It’, Craig is back in a BIG way thanks to the viral video sensation of 2015. His electric appearance on MistaJam’s #60MinutesLive Takeover with Kurupt FM, Big Narstie and Stormzy amassed 3.5 million views in just 24 hours and the desire for Craig David has been on overdrive since.

‘When the Bassline Drops’ is the incredible collaboration born out of Craig and Big Narstie meeting at this Kurupt FM takeover. It’s a modern return to the old school Garage sound with Craig’s killer vocals and hook alongside Big Narstie’s unmistakable rhymes citing his memories from the garage era in which he grew up.

Craig says, ”I am back in that 16-year-old kid mode, hungry, passionate and making music that I would want to bump in my ride and dance to”

Big Narstie is fast becoming an iconic figure in the current UK music scene. A three-time UMA Best Grime Act and Mobo nominated artist, his recent BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge has been viewed over 700,000 times via Facebook alone. Recent single ‘Hello Hi’ was supported strongly by national radio in the UK, and 2016 sees him release his BDL (Base Defence League) Mixtape and his solo album on Dice Recordings as well as collaborations with Example and his international show on Spotify.

2015 was already a sensational year for Craig. From closing down the stage at Notting Hill Carnival, blowing the roof off Fabric’s 16th Birthday, sending the crowd insane by appearing at Bestival and with Major Lazer at Alexandra Palace to collaborating with the likes of Chase & Status, Diplo, Goldlink, Kaytranada, Bonkaz, Katy B and Shy FX. There’s also been sold out TS5 shows at East London’s Oslo and Shapes and a weekly primetime TS5 show every Friday on Capital Xtra. With supreme praise coming in hard and fast for new track ‘When the Bassline Drops’ with grime MC Big Narstie, it’s clear that the unstoppable rise again of Craig David is much more than just nostalgia. He’s back in the game and the best is yet to come. As Noisey recently said, “Rise Craig David, your time is now”.
