Sales of Sam Smith’s debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’, have spiked by more than 216% since the release of Bond theme tune ‘Writing’s On The Wall’, which has also made history by becoming the first ever Number 1 James Bond theme on the Official Charts.

The track has now beaten Adele’s Skyfall and Duran Duran’s View To A Kill which, up until now, were the highest-charting Bond Themes.

The new surge in demand for Smith’s debut comes over a year after its original release in May 2014. In the Lonely Hourearned two Number 1 singles for Sam as well as a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
