Shayne Ward premiered his new album track ‘The Way You Were’ on BBC Leeds ‘One on One’ radio show on Tuesday. Hope this is one for a little online story?

Shayne co-wrote the stomping pop mid tempo with Mike Stock (from legendary 80s pop production team Stock Aitken and Waterman, who have cut iconic hits for Kylie, Bananarama and Rick Astley). The track is taken from Shayne’s upcoming fourth studio album ‘Closer’ (out digitally on 12 April).

The album also features the single ‘My Heart Would Take You Back’ and a cover of Sugababes’ hit ‘About You Now’.

The Manchester-born and bred star has sold over 3 million albums, achieved 14 platinum discs and clocked up #1 albums in 9 countries. 10 years on, Shayne is still the most successful solo male X Factor winner.

Shayne will be visiting HMV stores throughout the UK to sign copies of his new album ‘Closer’.
