The Inaugural British Sports Awards (The BSAs) will take place at The O2 London, on 3 November 2014. Set to become the most prestigious night in the sporting calendar, this brand new annual live event will bring together the biggest names in music with a star-studded audience from the worlds of sport and entertainment. With spectacular live music performances and eight award presentations celebrating the outstanding success and stars of British sport, The BSAs promise an unrivalled experience for music and sport fans around the world.

Global superstar Dizzee Rascal, Hip Hop Duo Rizzle Kicks and chart-topping Katy B are the first acts to be confirmed to take the stage at The O2 London with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

‘We’re really looking forward to performing at The British Sports Awards. It’s going to be an amazing night with all those legends under one roof.” said Rizzle Kicks.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 6th June.

Eight specially commissioned awards celebrating the various sporting triumphs of the past year will be presented during the night in front of an audience of 14,000 celebrities and fans. The nominees in each category are chosen by a 10-strong panel of very special BSA Ambassadors, all sporting icons in their own right. Sir Clive Woodward OBE, Olympic Gold Medalist Katherine Grainger CBE, four-time Paralympics champion Ellie Simmonds OBE, former England Cricket Captain Nasser Hussain OBE and an England and Premier League superstar are among those tasked with deciding nominees and winners in categories which include BSAs Team of the Year, BSAs Local Hero, BSAs Male and Female Sports Star, BSAs Young Sports Star, BSAs International Sports Star and BSAs Lifetime Achievement. A further five ambassadors will be added to the panel in the coming weeks.

The BSAs signature award, BSAs Moment of the Year, will be decided by a public vote across social media. Nominations will be unveiled in September.

The BSAs will be attended by current England footballers, superstars from across all our national sports in addition to a host of celebrity supporters.

BSA Ambassador Sir Clive Woodward comments: “The British Sports Awards promises to be a superb event. I am thrilled to be on the BSA Ambassador panel and look forward to celebrating our country’s achievements and the individuals who have lit up the sporting stage this year.”

BSA Ambassador Ellie Simmonds OBE said “I’m really excited about being an Ambassador for the British Sports Awards. It’s wonderful that following on from Team GB’s performances at The Olympics and Paralympics, that our country’s appetite for sport has continued to grow and that a great event like The BSAs has been created to celebrate that legacy.”

“Following the unprecedented love affair the British public had with the 2012 Olympics and the nation’s ongoing passion for top-class sport, the time is right for a new exciting style of Sports Awards event, something dynamic and fresh produced for the fans” commented Zak Biddu, Producer, Sports Awards. “The BSAs celebrates Britain’s sports stars and sporting achievements combined with the best live music and entertainment. We are privileged to enjoy the unanimous support of sporting legends and current superstars, our ambassadors are qualified to determine the biggest achievers in British sport and we have the exciting British Sports Moment of the Year which the public will select. The combination of sporting celebration and world-class entertainment makes the BSAs an event not to miss!”
