5 Seconds of Summer celebrate their first UK #1 album as ‘Sounds Good Feels Good’ storms straight in to the top spot in the Official Albums Chart. With the album also topping the US Billboard Chart and the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, the band also become the third Australian act in history to have simultaneous #1 albums in the UK, US and Australia, and the only band in history (not vocal group) to see their first two full-length studio albums debut at #1 on the US Billboard 200 Chart. They are also the first Australian band (including vocal and not vocal groups) to see their first two full-length albums debut at #1 on the US Billboard 200 Chart.

As well as reaching #1 here in the UK, the US and their home country – Australia, the band’s second album debuted at #1 in seven other countries around the world!

The band said, “This is our first Number 1 album in the UK and we are all incredibly proud. This Number 1 isn’t just for us, it’s for all our fans and to everybody who has supported us, especially everyone who has been there from the beginning. We remember playing to about ten fans in Hyde Park about three years ago – It seems so much longer. Our fans have been truly amazing – this is for all of you. We made an album that is incredibly personal to us and we just hope our fans can relate to it and that it brings a bit joy to people’s lives. We all can’t wait to play it next year on our tour. Thanks again to everyone who has made this possible.”

This incredible International chart success tops off what can only be described as a monumental year for the band. They spent the summer performing SOLD OUT headline shows across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia including three massive SOLD OUT nights at the SSE Arena, Wembley during their ‘Rock Out With Your Socks Out’ 2015 worldwide tour. By the end of the tour, the lads had played to over 1,000,000 fans in 2015 across three continents. The band also recently announced a new UK and Ireland tour in 2016. The ‘Sounds Live Feels Live’ arena tour will see them play to their army of dedicated fans over the course of April next year.

5SOS are one of the biggest breakthrough stories of the last two years; six multi-million selling singles, a self-titled debut album that not only topped the US Album Chart (going to #1 globally on iTunes in 76 countries) but also became the third biggest pre-order in iTunes history and the biggest US debut by an Australian artist ever – now to add to that, a second album that has topped the charts around the world.

From the start, 5SOS were united by a love of punk-rock music and a vision of bringing it into the pop stratosphere. They played their first gig together in late 2011, performing for about a dozen people at a hotel in their hometown of Sydney, Australia. Three years later, they were headlining the Forum in Los Angeles, where they played for 25,000 fans during a sold-out, two-night stand.

One of many standout tracks from the new album, new single ‘Hey Everybody!’ is a confident all-out rock assault to the senses – crunching guitars, high octane drumming and a belting chorus.
