Alt-folk newcomer Arthur Black has released their haunting new single ‘Burning Side of View’, a beautifully melancholic glimpse into the artist’s debut EP Burning Side of You, set for release this July.
Hailing from East Anglia, Black’s latest track is a powerful example of their distinctive blend of intimacy and drama. With echoes of The Cranberries, Midlake, Fleetwood Mac and Ethel Cain, the single sways between nostalgia and pain, rooted in personal experience and shaped by a truly unconventional upbringing.
Raised off-grid in a nomadic, bohemian lifestyle, Black had little contact with the digital world, instead discovering music through their family’s CD collection. After a family tragedy struck, Black turned to songwriting and a gifted guitar for solace, crafting a voice that is as raw as it is resonant.
Produced by Jack Halsall (Pleasure Inc) and Laver Bullard (Ethel Cain, Olivia Rodrigo), ‘Burning Side of View’ distils the artist’s journey into a cinematic soundscape brimming with vulnerability and longing.
Having already captivated audiences at Reading, Latitude, Brighten the Corners and First Light festivals in 2024, Arthur Black is set to continue their ascent with appearances at Leeds Festival, Rock and Roll Circus and Wild Paths this summer.
With their debut EP on the horizon and a loyal online following growing steadily, Arthur Black is fast becoming one of the UK’s most compelling new voices—an artist whose authenticity, talent, and emotional weight demand attention.
