Following her appearance on BBC Three’s I Kissed A Girl this summer, Kayleigh McCarthy is continuing to build her musical world as Charlotte Sometimess, with new single ‘Wannabe Adored’.

Kayleigh McCarthy has already had quite a year.

After appearing on the second series of BBC Three’s I Kissed A Girl, the performer is continuing to make her mark in music under her Charlotte Sometimes moniker.

Her latest release, ‘Wannabe Adored’, follows previous 2026 releases including ‘DON’T MAKE IT HARD’ and ‘tongue-tied’, showing that this isn’t a brand-new direction for Kayleigh, but part of a growing body of work as Charlotte Sometimess.

The new track was written alongside Christy Carey of Blackacre, with the pair first meeting through Access Creative College’s A List event. Both are alumni of Access, making the collaboration a great example of creative connections continuing long after college.

Kayleigh has already been getting plenty of experience on stage, including a live performance at Latitude Festival, while her appearance on I Kissed A Girl has introduced her to a much wider audience.

Alongside her music, she’s also been busy with DJ performances, making for a pretty packed schedule as she continues to develop her career across music and live performance.

‘Wannabe Adored’

With Wannabe Adored, Charlotte Sometimess continues to build on the sound established across her previous releases. Rather than arriving as an introduction to the artist, the track feels like another piece of a developing musical identity, giving us a glimpse into where Kayleigh is taking the project.

It’s still early days for this particular chapter of Kayleigh’s career, but with several releases already under her belt, live performances and an increasingly busy schedule, there’s plenty to suggest that Charlotte Sometimess is an artist worth keeping an eye on.

Kayleigh is also set to chat with Pop Scoop for an interview, so we’ll be bringing you more from her soon.
