Duran Duran performed to a packed-out American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Sunday night, showcasing hits such as Ordinary World, Girls on Film and Notorious with Nile Rodgers.
Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, Roger Taylor and John Taylor wasted no time in getting to the hits, opening with their first UK No. 1 single, Is There Something I Should Know?
“Hi London… Do you reckon it’s time for Bond?” Le Bon asked as the band teased the intro to A View to a Kill before launching into Hungry Like the Wolf. “We’ve had some fantastic acts on. Nile Rodgers and CHIC, the amazing Scissor Sisters. Now, I think it’s time for a little howling…”
The dream setlist spanned more than 40 years of hits, with The Reflex, Come Undone and White Lines all featuring during the first half of the show.
“How many of you plan on staying up all night? Are you going down the pub? Football, lads?” Le Bon asked, referring to England’s Round of 16 World Cup match against Mexico. Introducing Ordinary World, he added: “Usually we dedicate this to people less fortunate than us. But this time, we’re going to dedicate it to the England football team. I have faith in this team. I believe in them. I think they’re gonna do us proud. They can overcome the cauldron that is the Azteca. They can overcome the altitude. They can overcome the team that is Mexico. I believe.”
Next came the collaboration fans had been waiting for. “We are very lucky to have a relationship with one of the greatest artists that the world has ever known,” Le Bon said. “I’m talking about Nile Rodgers. We’ve recorded some of our best songs with Nile and we are so proud of our relationship with him.”
With Rodgers on guitar, the band performed Notorious, followed by the more recent Free to Love. “You lovely, lovely man,” Le Bon added as he embraced his longtime collaborator.
As dusk settled over Hyde Park, a Girls on Film/Psycho Killer medley kept the crowd dancing beneath a purple evening sky. The encore brought the show to a fiery close with London Calling, Wild Boys, Save a Prayer and, fittingly, Rio, ending a triumphant two-hour headline performance.
Following the show, Duran Duran announced a special Halloween performance at London’s The O2 on 31 October as part of their 2026 UK arena tour.
With a giant inflatable pair of scissors towering over the stage, Scissor Sisters brought chaos, glamour and plenty of fun to BST Hyde Park with a high-energy 12-song set.
Opening with Don’t Feel Like Dancing, Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis immediately got the crowd moving. “How you doing, London?” Shears asked before launching into Laura. “Now we’re cooking. Now we’re cooking with grease.”
Dressed in blue-and-gold sequin dungarees, Shears led the expanded seven-piece band through Get Your Tits Out and I Can’t Decide before welcoming special guest Melanie C for a mash-up of Take Your Mama Out and George Michael’s Freedom.
“Alright, we have something very special for you tonight,” Shears told the crowd. “Joining us to sing this next song, the one and only Ms Melanie C.”
Before closing with Only the Horses, Shears thanked the city that embraced the band from the beginning. “London is really the Scissor Sisters’ hometown… it always has been. Thank you for your support. This is for you.”
Nile Rodgers & CHIC returned to BST Hyde Park with a hit-filled set celebrating one of pop music’s greatest catalogues. Alongside CHIC classics including Le Freak, Dance, Dance, Dance, I Want Your Love and He’s the Greatest Dancer, Rodgers treated fans to songs he helped create for Diana Ross (I’m Coming Out), Sister Sledge (We Are Family), Madonna (Like a Virgin and Material Girl) and Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams (Get Lucky). The set closed with Good Times, joined by Duran Duran bassist John Taylor.
Groove Armada kicked off the afternoon with an uplifting DJ set that quickly filled Hyde Park. Tom Findlay and Andy Cato reflected on nearly three decades together, crediting TikTok for introducing their music to a new generation of fans. The performance also marked Findlay’s 53rd birthday.
Over on the Rainbow Stage presented by British Airways, Melanie C headlined with a feel-good set celebrating 30 years since the release of the Spice Girls’ debut album Spice. Highlights included Who Do You Think You Are? and a singalong finale of 2 Become 1.
Sophie Grey impressed early festivalgoers with her futuristic electro-pop, performing tracks from her latest EP Just Another Sonic Monday, while Harrison opened the stage with high-energy dance tracks, including his viral cover of t.A.T.u.’s All the Things She Said.
On the Birdcage Stage, Sistra drew crowds with emotionally charged alt-pop, Wendy Bevan combined haunting vocals with electric violin, and Sam Scherdel showcased his anthemic single Somewhere in the Middle.
The remaining BST Hyde Park 2026 headliners include Pitbull (10 July) and Lewis Capaldi (11 & 12 July).
