Mumford & Sons teamed up with Shania Twain and Hozier to deliver a breathtaking headline show at BST Hyde Park on Saturday night.
The fourth headliner of the American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2026 series celebrated 10 years since the band’s last headline appearance at the London festival. Performing a stunning 19-song set, Mumford & Sons thrilled the crowd with two surprise guests and a career-spanning selection of songs, from Little Lion Man and Delta to Wolf, before an unforgettable encore with Shania Twain.
The two-hour performance opened with Begin Again from the band’s 2026 album Rushmere, accompanied by pyrotechnics as Marcus Mumford greeted the crowd:
“Good evening my friends, we’re Mumford & Sons and after all this time, in our hometown, we didn’t come to f*** around… one, two, three, four…”
I Will Wait quickly had Hyde Park dancing, while White Blank Page showcased the band’s emotional side.
Speaking to the audience, Mumford joked: “Tonight, I’m going to mostly talk about football. We’re stoked to be home. Thank you for being here with us… I swear there’s nothing like Hyde Park on a sunny summer’s day.”
The night’s first surprise arrived during Rubber Band Man, as Irish singer-songwriter Hozier joined the band on stage. The pair also performed Awake My Soul, with Mumford describing Hozier as “the kindest man in music.”
Celebrating Pride, Mumford paused to tell the audience: “Happy Pride.”
The main set continued with Truth, Ditmas, Little Lion Man, Believe, Delta and Wolf.
The encore began with Rushmere before Mumford teased another surprise. “We’ve got another cheeky surprise for you… It was a surprise for us too actually… Let’s just give it up for Shania Twain.”
Fresh from performing at Wembley Stadium with Harry Styles, Shania Twain appeared on stage wearing a black bodysuit and knee-high boots to perform Here, originally recorded with Chris Stapleton.
Mumford couldn’t hide his excitement:
“Shania Twain is my f***ing hero, ladies and gents. You don’t understand. This is a very big deal for me. She played Wembley Stadium tonight, and she’s here. That is gangster.”
Twain then stayed on stage for an electrifying rendition of Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, telling the audience: “Thanks for having me, honestly, this is so awesome. What are we going to do now? Are we going to jam out something sassy?”
The night closed with Banjo Song and The Cave, before Mumford thanked the crowd one final time. “I’m lost for words tonight. All I’m thinking about is the football and Shania Twain… If all of you mother f***ers keep showing up, we’ll keep going.”
The War On Drugs Impress Hyde Park Crowd
The War On Drugs delivered a powerful nine-song set, opening with Who’s That before launching into Red Eyes.
Frontman Adam Granduciel told the audience: “It’s a pleasure to be here with our friends, Mumford & Sons. It’s our second time playing the incredible Hyde Park.”
The set featured Pain, Oceans of Darkness, Under The Pressure, Strangest Thing and ended with I Don’t Live Here Anymore.
Holly Humberstone Welcomed Home
Holly Humberstone admitted she was overwhelmed by the atmosphere. “It’s such an honour to be here… This is magical!”
Her set included To Love Somebody, The Walls Are Too Thin, Cruel World and Blue Dream.
Before leaving the stage she added: “Thank you so much for the best welcome home, Hyde Park… Happy Pride, all year round.”
CAAMP Bring Summer Vibes
Ohio folk-rock favourites CAAMP quickly won over Hyde Park with tracks including Come With Me Now, Peach Fuzz, Vagabond and I Keep Doing.
Lead singer Evan Westfall said: “How you doing, London? It’s good to be back.”
Noticing the growing crowd, he added: “Thank you so much, there’s quite a few of you here now. Happy 4th of July, everybody.”
The band closed with All The Debts I Owe.
Earlier Performances
Opening the Great Oak Stage, Divorce impressed early arrivals, with vocalist Tiger Cohen-Towell praising the day’s lineup.
On the Rainbow Stage, Irish band Cliffords dedicated their performance to Pride, with frontwoman Iona Lynch telling the audience: “This is for the gays today… We’re so excited to be here. Thank you.”
Stella Lefty attracted one of the Rainbow Stage’s biggest crowds of the weekend, while Cassandra Coleman, Bec O’Malley, Heidi Curtis and Dermot Henry also impressed festivalgoers throughout the afternoon.
