Perrie makes her long-awaited solo return today with the release of If He Wanted To He Would.
The euphoric pop anthem blends live instrumentation with Perrie’s powerhouse vocals and witty, tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Co-written with Nina Nesbitt—who also features in the video—and The Nocturns, the track tells the story of a toxic relationship from the perspective of a best friend.

The striking music video, premiering later today, was filmed in a palace and playfully references rom-com classics including The Holiday, Bridesmaids, and Pretty Woman.
Alongside the single, Perrie has announced her debut solo album Perrie, arriving on September 26th and available to pre-order now: Perrie.lnk.to/PerriePR. The album draws on a wide range of influences—rock’n’roll, Motown, disco, country, 80s and bold pop—tied together by Perrie’s soaring, emotive vocals. It will feature previous singles Forget About Us and You Go Your Way.

Perrie launched her solo career in 2024 with Forget About Us, which hit the UK Top 10 and has racked up over 51 million streams. After releasing several more tracks, she took a step back over Christmas to refocus creatively, spending nine months writing in her home studio The La La Room. The result is her most personal and authentic music yet.
With If He Wanted To He Would and her debut album on the way, Perrie is ready to take the next step in her solo journey.
