Heartwarming and passionate, Marta’s new synth driven indie pop, Run Away, releases on the 22nd of August, marking her 10 year wedding anniversary. Run Away tells the story of a true, fierce love that survives thick and thin, and only comes out stronger, Marta’s love for her husband is unmistakable through this pop version ballad, giving her fans, the ‘Martini’s’, a peep into her life and love through her poignant lyrics.

Marta graduated from London College of Music with a BA in Musical Theatre and has made a lasting impression on the Latvian music scene with multiple hit singles and two critically acclaimed albums, both nominated for Pop Album of the Year, and mentioned by Jodie Bryant on BBC Radio 1 “I’m a ‘Martini’ now” and Wonderland Magazine as “Ear-worm melodies and lyrical prowess.”

The track showcases Marta’s signature sound, blending tenderly upbeat melodies with emotionally rich lyrics that speak directly to the heart. Whether it’s the quiet intimacy of a slow-burning romance, the ache of long-distance connection, or the intimate feelings of a soulmate connection, Run Away relates itself to many experiences, with lyrics such as “I wouldn’t dare to change a thing, I’m terrified you’d disappear, and that’s not a life worth living in,” this track opens itself to allowing it to be loved by many, capturing the emotional complexity of what it means to love and to be loved.

Marta is inspired by artists such as Gracie Abrams, Taylor Swift and Griff, and this is especially recognised through its production which pairs minimalistic instrumentation with Marta’s compelling vocals, allowing the emotion of Run Away’s lyrics to be captured in the most authentic way. Its delicate beat and warm, cozy textures wrap around the lyrics, pulling listeners into the core of the song’s message.

The message behind Run Away just intensifies the beauty behind the song, Marta stating, “It’s one of my most personal and special songs yet: a surprise release for my husband on our 10 year wedding anniversary.” Love letters and songs have always been a classic statement of love, shown in the media for decades as one of the purest and most outgoing forms of love and this single in no way disappoints.

Run Away is streaming now as just a taste of Marta’s future projects, including Wrong Woman (Part II) EP releasing in October 2025, just promising an extension of this raw and heartfelt narrative that has proved so easy to be hooked into.
