The internationally recognised artist and industry disruptor, Yungblud, has achieved his third consecutive UK No. 1 album. ‘Idols’, the first part of a double album project released last Friday June 20. The Official Charts Company recognised the achievement, presenting Yungblud with an Official Number 1 trophy. Yungblud has accumulated 7.6 billion streams worldwide across his entire catalogue.
On Saturday, Yungblud made a triumphant return to the Milton Keynes National Bowl to headline his own curated festival, Bludfest. Addressing the crowd during an electrifying set, which included a number of tracks from ‘Idols’, he said, “I was so f*cking nervous to release this album. It’s been four years in the making, but to see the amount of love that you are giving it… I love you all so much.”
At the end of his set, he told the crowd, “I’ll remember this night forever.”
The campaign for ‘Idols’ got off to a flying start in March, when the epic, 9-minute, 6-second lead single, ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ was played in its entirety by Jack Saunders as his Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1.
From then on, single releases were marked by a series of standout moments, including a remarkable collaboration with Academy Award-nominated actor Florence Pugh, who starred in the heart-wrenching video for the anthemic, ‘Zombie’, and Yungblud’s surprise appearance at the iconic Hawley Arms in Camden, where he put in a shift behind the bar to pour pints for delighted fans.
‘Idols’ received high praise from the likes of The Times, who called album track ‘Change’ a “David Bowie style power ballad”.
In April, The Telegraph referred to Yungblud as “The pop star bringing real rock music back from the dead.”
The Guardian described the “epic lead single ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’” as a “nine-minute rock opera”.
Kerrang! said of ‘Idols’, “It’s Yungblud like you’ve never heard him before.”
And the London Evening Standard called Yungblud, “A genuine Gen Z, rock phenomenon”.
On June 6, Yungblud announced a UK arena tour for April 2026, featuring some of his biggest headline shows in the country to date outside of Bludfest, including an appearance at London’s O2 Arena.
