Footballers will be queuing at a chance to tackle and defend Lionel Messi after his revealing at Wembley today. That is the waxwork version created by Madame Tussauds.

The new wax figure, portraying Messi in his signature “goal celebration” pose, arms aloft dressed in FC Barcelona kit, was positioned with the goal, where he put the ball in the net in the 2010/2011 Champions League Final, in the background.
”Here at Wembley we offer the unique chance for fans to follow in the footsteps of their heroes, so we were happy to be the venue for the first reveal of Madame Tussuads’ figure of one of the biggest heroes in the game!” said Adam Burrage, Wembley Tours Manager.
Wax Messi will return to Madame Tussauds where he will take up residence alongside his Real Madrid rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pelé and David Beckham.
A spokeswoman for the museum said: ‘We are very excited to confirm Messi’s inclusion in our interactive Sports Zone.
‘As one of the top footballers of this generation our visitors are constantly requesting his figure.’

Making this waxwork must have been a Messi affair
