After teasing with the mellow protest anthem “Mind on Fire,” urban folk singer-songwriter Aisha Badru gifts us with a heartwarming video for her new single “Bridges.”

Directed by Nathan Presley, and premiering exclusively with Ones To Watch, the visual creatively tackles overcoming obstacles in a relationship in a creative way that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. “Bridges” serves as the lead single on Aisha Badru’s forthcoming debut album due early 2018 via Nettwerk Music Group.

The album will also feature “Mind on Fire,” which since its release, has racked up over 5 million streams on Spotify and been featured across some major playlists, including Indie Acoustic and Feminist Friday. The equally poignant video also landed her a spot on Vevo’s Incoming Indie playlist. Aisha’s distinct sound has quickly begun to capture the attention of many including Afropunk who called it “difficult to describe but impossible not to feel.”

Soon after the New York native self-released her debut EP Vacancy in 2015, her beautifully moving song “Waiting Around” was selected for a viral VolkswagenSouth African campaign. Outside of music, Aisha is dedicated to philanthropy. Earlier this month, she travelled to Bali, Indonesia to donate a portion of the income she received from her Volkswagen commercial to rebuild a home for a local poverty-stricken family.
