Over the many years of its existence, BBC Children In Need has seen countless inventive, fun and often downright crazy fundraising events completed. On 26th October, singer-songwriter Emma Stevens will add to that list with a 12 hour sing-a-thon in her hometown of Guildford to raise money for the BBC charity. Emma – who will release her second full length album ‘Waves’ on the 10th November – is set to perform from 8am to 8pm on Guildford High Street, busking for the entire 12 hours.

But it won’t just be Emma performing on the day, as she’ll also be inviting guests to accompany her on the musical adventure:

“I will be inviting musicians and singers to come up and join me throughout the day,” writes Emma on her JustGiving page. “I will send out a set list of songs to choose from soon. If this is something that appeals to you, please get in touch!”

As a lifetime supporter of Children In Need, Emma has always wanted to get actively stuck in with the charity. She is finally getting her chance, and couldn’t be happier:

“Children in Need is an awesome charity and I’ve always wanted to get involved somehow, I hope that by doing this I can raise as much money as possible for such a fantastic cause.”

Following the successful BBC Radio 2 play listed lead single, ‘Make My Day’ – which was dubbed ‘the catchiest pop you’ll hear in a while’ by All Noise – Emma Stevens’ stunning second album ‘Waves’ will be released on 10th November. Once again illustrating her undeniable talent as a sturdy pop songwriter, the album showcases her sense of fun, ear for melody and overall creativity more than ever before.

She will also be releasing her second single from the album ‘Gold Rush’ on the 24th November. As a fantasy whirlwind of frantically strummed guitar and galloping rhythms, the track is a standout from ‘Waves’, clearly demonstrating Emma’s hard work, versatility, authenticity and unconditional love of song writing.

As the BBC’s corporate charity since 1980, Children In Need has raised over £600 million, changing the lives of UK children in various ways. The charity’s vision is to ensure that every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and allowed to reach their full potential. Providing grants to projects in the UK that focus on young people who are disadvantaged, the charity is local to people in all corners of the country, supporting both small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices.
