In addition to Plan B headlining, with special guest performances by Rita Ora and James Arthur, it has now been confirmed that rapper Giggs, Bebe Black and Little Nikki will join the first day of the Sound Island Festival 2013 line-up at Quex Park, Nr. Margate, on Saturday 27 July.

Giggs is one of the most exciting and influential rappers in the UK, having worked with everyone from Example, Wiley and Tinchy Stryder, through to Wretch 32, Devlin and Mike Skinner, he has recently signed to XL Recordings following several years of huge success on the underground scene.

With a natural progression of her music career, 24 year old Bebe Black first sprang to wider attention after lending her vocals to Benga’s Icon and has since released her debut EP, Deathwish, earlier this month, with her debut album expected sometime later this year. Blending different music genres, Bebe once described her sound as being “goth-pop-step”.

Little Nikki was signed to Mercury Records at just 13 as part of girl group Soundgirl, but went solo after the group supported Justin Beiber and Pixie Lott on tour. Touted as one of MTV’s ‘10 to watch in 2013’, Little Nikki’s debut single, Intro Intro, has been widely acclaimed by media.

Additional artistes for the Sunday, when Jessie J will headline with performances from Lawson and Union J, will be announced in due course.

Commenting on the announcement, concert spokesperson Dion Clements said “As fast rising artists in their own right, Giggs, Bebe Black and Little Nikki fit very nicely with the edgier sound of the Saturday line-up of Plan B, Rita Ora and James Arthur. All three have rapidly developing music careers ahead of them so we’re very pleased to be able to showcase their live talents to potentially new fans”.

The Sound Island Festival will take place on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28, July 2013 at Quex Park, Birchington-On-Sea. For more information, or to book tickets for the event, visit www.gigantic.com, or call 0871 224 1112. Tickets can also be booked by personally visiting the Margate Winter Gardens.
